RGI concentrates on translating and copywriting Japanese-to-English and English-to-Japanese documentation. Our expertise lies in the field of advertising and promotion, but we have a strong technical background, so we also offer technical translation.
We work mainly in the fields of audio-video, telecommunications, electronics, and automobiles. Over the years, however, we have produced thousands of pages of documentation in fields as far-reaching as finance, linguistics, patents, and civil engineering.
We offer a variety of languages outside of English and Japanese, but our strength in these languages is also derived from the strength of our basic English documentation. In other words, our multi-language documents are able to maintain an excellent level of quality because they are created from a base of straightforward and precise English.
The Price Tag
Our rates are competitive with other similar advertising-related agencies both in Japan and around the world. However, the discerning customer needs to realize that, particularly in Japan, English documentation comes in all colors and flavors. There is a widespread cottage industry in Japan that is based on non-English-speaking translators, often students and housewives, who work for very low rates. Unfortunately, the quality of English that many of these translators produce is also quite low.

We also offer a wide line of services other than copywriting. These include translation, rewriting documents that were originally written by others, proofreading, creating catch phrases, and naming products and services.
